FDA Rules Allulose Exempt from Sugar Declaration
In April 2019, the FDA ruled allulose as exempt from inclusion on the 'Added' or 'Total Sugars' declaration on a nutritional label. Its caloric value was also determined to be a mere 0.4 kcal/g, making it 90% lower in calories than sucrose.
